NC Mullis Family 5 months, 2 weeks agoFrom what I understand, his records were lost in the St Louis Archives fire many years ago but nothing wrong with trying. He was on the USS Pensacola, I have his crossing the equator certificate making him a member of King Neptunes Realm from July 1940, pretty neat deal. My father Charlie Mathew Mullis was born in North Carolina from what I know, on January 27,1910 and died July 15,1966 and is buried in Chattanooga National Cemetery. I posted a document for you in the documents section of this group regarding your father being a crew member of the USS Pensecola. If you end up getting his file from the National Archives – will you let me know who his parents were so we can tie him in to the rest of our Mullises. Thanks.

Here is the website that provides the info on how to obtain your father’s military record. I have used this to get my grandfather’s records and it is fairly quick to get them since they have paid staff to research the record as well as you now have his service #.
