Margie Shearin Mullis, 93, died peacefully on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 at Carolina Rest Home.
She was the daughter of the late Frank Myrt and Sureen Jenkins Shearin and was also preceded in death by her husband, Cleades Mullis.
Margie had an unstoppable determination to press forward in all aspects of her life. A graduate of Littleton High School; she retired after 42 years of working in the textile mills. She enjoyed gardening and helping people in the community.
Mrs. Mullis is survived by her son, Cleades Mullis Jr. of Roanoke Rapids, and her daughter. Debra Helms of York, South Carolina; her brother, George Wade Shearin of Littleton; her grandson and caregiver, Andrew Mullis; her granddaughters, Stacey Bechtold, Raven Foley and Jennifer Hammill;, four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Rev. Randy Martin will conduct a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18th at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to the staff of Carolina Rest Home for their loving and caring assistance.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17 at Blaylock Funeral Home in Littleton, which is handling the arrangements.
