She was the daughter of Mary Edna Collier Bruce and Clarence McPherson Bruce. She is survived by her daughter and grandchild, Deanna Lynn Mullis and Daniel Paul Deal; her daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter, Wendy Joy Wildblood, Eric John Wildblood, and Kayla Nichole Wyatt; and her brothers, Clarence McPherson Bruce Jr. and Harry Bruce.

Graveside services for Jerry Clyde Mullis, Sr., age 59, of East Dublin will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Northview Cemetery. Reverend Hugh Spivey will officiate.

Mr. Mullis was a United States Army Veteran and retired from the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center. He was also a paper carrier for the Courier Herald. He attended the Assembly of God in Dublin. Mr. Mullis was the son of the late Perry Clyde Mullis and the late Annie Lizzie Williams Mullis. He passed away on August 21, 2011.

James Brooks Mullis

James Brooks Mullis, 83, of Lincoln County, died Aug. 10, 2005.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Beth Haven Baptist Church in Denver. The family will hold a private burial. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2 p.m. prior to the service.

A native of Union County, he was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was with the Second Marine division in the South Pacific, was wounded on the island of Saipan and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Carl Mullis graduated in 1972 from Yale University, and in 1975, he graduated with distinction from Emory Law. After graduation, Mullis joined the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice under its honors program. As a senior trial attorney for the Antitrust Division for 11 years, Mullis conducted numerous grand jury investigations and criminal antitrust trials in five Southern states.
